About the Library:
Ganagamai College of Engineering, Nagaon (GCOE), established in 1991, is one of the premier engineering colleges in the country. The institute has a well-equipped library with an integrated automation system, installed through vmedulife. Vmedulife Library software with Barcode Technology is being used in the library for Charging and discharging of books. It is one of the important resource centers of the institute serving both students as well as faculty at the institute. The library has a varied collection comprising: • Books • e-books, • e-journals, • Technical reports • Periodicals. A well-equipped, computerized and spacious state of art library is available with more than 29000 volumes and 230 CD’s, on various topics. A large number of national and international print/online journals is subscribed to, covering all disciplines. Our college Subscribe the most of major technical International Online Journals – knimbus (including springer, Science Direct, JSTOR, PubMed).
Role of the Library (GCOE)
A library is a critical knowledge hub where students develop reading habits and gain valuable lifelong skills. It identifies, evaluates, procures, processes, and then makes these learning resources available to faculty, students, researchers and other readers for their teaching, learning, research assignments and reading. Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the father of library science development in India has famously said that a library is a trinity of learning resources, faculty /students and the library staff.
